he F16 is Blaser’s , made in Game and Sporting versions.1, 2 The Game is for hunting and the Sporting for clay shooting.2, 3 Both have a Gun Metal Grey receiver, lettered F16 in silver on the Game and in red on the Sporting.4

The mechanical works with rotary hammers and angled firing pins.5 A selector in front of the chooses which barrel fires first.6 The Sporting has an adjustable blade, a balancer and provision for barrel weights.4 The Intuition , designed for women, has a Monte Carlo and a slender .7

Identify and date

The left side of the barrel carries the model designation and calibre.26 On the selector, U stands for the lower barrel and O for the upper.6 The rims carry one notch for IC, two for M, three for IM, four for F and five for EF.27 The Baronesse has long engraved with leaf arabesques.14

Proof date

The year mark gives the year’s last two digits and may include the month. On application, the proof ordinance lets the letters below replace the digits, with either I or J for 8.28

Before you buy

  1. Check that the F16 designation and calibre on the barrel match the gun’s description.26
  2. Count the tubes; the 2026 Swiss list supplies a 12- gun with three flush Blaser : IC, M and IM.19, 20
  3. With steel shot, keep suitable fitted and leave out IM, F and EF, as the manual directs.27
  4. Have the ejector springs and timing checked; Blaser’s factory service covers both.29
  5. Have the hinge movement, locking, operation and inspected; Blaser’s factory service includes these checks.29
  6. On a Sporting, check that the balancer, barrel-weight provision and adjustable blade are present.4
  7. Compare the service record with the recommended interval: 10,000 shots or two years in the manual, and 30,000 shots or two years in the 2026 Swiss list.30, 29, 20

History

Blaser launched the F16 at the British Shooting Show in 2016.10, 1 It announced US availability for the end of April 2016.31 Intuition stocks for hunting and clay shooting appeared in Blaser’s flyer of January 2017.13, 12 By April 2024 the Pro Series was shipping, with ported 32-inch barrels and RHINO G1 .25, 15

Selected Game versions in 20/76 joined the range in the 2025 catalogue.32, 33 The Swiss list effective from January 2026 added a matte finish to the 12- Game and Sporting guns.20, 19 It offered Standard, Luxus and Baronesse grades, each with a different class of wood.19

Revised
