Origins

Antonio Zoli re-established his company on 1 October 1945, after the interruption of the Second World War.1 He began with a small gunsmith’s workshop and built up the business with help from his sons.1 The family’s earlier history includes a muzzle-loading pistol made by Giovanni Zoli in 1845.2 The company is based at Gardone Val Trompia, Italy.3

Antonio was born in 1905; his father, Giuseppe, made flintlocks in nearby Magno.4 After the war the company made side-by-sides and .1 Later it added historical replicas, rifle-shotgun combinations and the MG-92 drilling line.5 In 2000 Paolo Zoli led the Classic Revolution 4 project for hunting and competition over-and-unders.6

Factories and partners

Zoli’s Italian works stand at Via Zanardelli 39, Gardone Val Trompia.3 The company designs and manufactures its range entirely in house.7 It machines the receiver from a single block of triple-alloy steel and makes the guard and from forgings.8 Its barrels are made by an industrial silver-soldering process.9

In 2011 Antonio Zoli North America was a division of Zoli Antonio s.r.l. of Gardone.10 The Italian company was family owned.10 Zoli now lists Zoli International LLC at Bulverde, Texas.11
